The Silver Streaks, led by Head Coach Tracy Moses, opened tourney play on Friday night with a 43-21 victory over the Arizona Premier. Just 15 hours later, the Streaks posted a similiar score by defeating the West Valley Ballers 42-21 on Saturday afternoon to advance to the semi-finals in the double-elimination tournament. Rising for the early, 8 a.m. game on Sunday morning, the Silver Streaks blasted the Phoenix Phenoms 34-11 to advance to the championship contest on Sunday afternoon. The Streaks held a narrow 17-15 halftime lead over the Premier in the gold medal game, before tightening the defense in the second half to propel the team to the championship. The 14U Silver Streaks will now play in the May Madness Tournament on May 8-10 in Phoenix, before embarking on the annual trek to California for the Memoria Day Weekend Tournament in Costa Mesa, Calif., May 23-25.
