The Streaks opened action on Saturday morning at Dobson High School by defeating the Premier 32-25. They would follow-up with another victory that afternoon, dropping the Arizona Thunder 35-19 to advance to Sunday's championship game. The Premier would go through the loser's bracket to face the Silver Streaks in a re-match for the gold medal. In a defensive battle, the Streaks held a narrow 7-5 lead at the intermission and held off the Premier in the closing seconds for a 14-13 championship win. The 14U Silver Streaks will now make their annual trip to California for the Memorial Day Weekend Tournament in Costa Mesa, Calif., May 23-25. |
